Barcelona step up their interest in Chelsea centre-back Andreas Christensen, according to a report.

Barcelona have reportedly stepped up their interest in Chelsea centre-back Andreas Christensen.

Christensen, 22, made 40 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea during the 2017-18 campaign.

The Denmark international has only made a single Premier League appearance for the Blues this term, however, with David Luiz and Antonio Rudiger both ahead of him in the pecking order.

Christensen's father, who is also his agent, claimed earlier this season that the defender will leave permanently in January unless the situation changes.

According to Sport, Barcelona have made contact with Chelsea over a move for Christensen, and the defender is keen to discuss a potential switch to Spain.

Christensen has made nine Chelsea appearances this season, although six of those have come in the Europa League.
