Chelsea reportedly identify Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen as a possible replacement for Kepa Arrizabalaga this summer

Chelsea have reportedly identified Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen as a possible replacement for Kepa Arrizabalaga this summer.

Kepa became the world's most expensive keeper when he joined Chelsea from Athletic Bilbao in 2018, but he has since lost his place in the starting lineup to 38-year-old Willy Caballero.

A string of mistakes and underwhelming performances saw Kepa slip down the pecking order in Frank Lampard's side, having conceded 43 goals in his 32 appearances across all competitions this season.

The Blues are understood to want to cash in on the Spaniard this summer with Real Madrid among the interested parties, and have subsequently been looking for a high-profile replacement.

Ajax's Andre Onana, AC Milan's Gianluigi Donnarumma and Dean Henderson of Manchester United have all been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, but The Express reports that Chelsea have now set their sights on Ter Stegen.

The German shot-stopper is contracted to Barcelona until 2022 but is thought to be considering his future at the club following an alleged fallout with Lionel Messi.

Ter Stegen, who would likely command a fee to surpass Kepa as the world's most expensive keeper, has kept 11 clean sheets in 34 Barcelona outings this season.
