Chelsea are reportedly considering a move to sign Anzhi Makhachkala forward Samuel Eto'o.
The 32-year-old Cameroon international is currently the highest-paid footballer in the world, earning a whopping £350,000 per week.
However, he has been made available for a reduced-price transfer, as Anzhi bosses attempt to radically slash the club's wage bill.
Eto'o could be allowed to leave Anzhi on a free transfer, but, according to La Stampa, the player will demand a yearly salary of no less than £6m.
The Italian newspaper claims that former club Inter Milan have been put off by that figure, while Chelsea, along with Napoli, remain interested.
Chelsea's first choice transfer target is Manchester United's Wayne Rooney, but the Red Devils have rejected two bids for the England star.
