Chelsea 'will not sign Cesc Fabregas replacement tonight'

Chelsea will reportedly not be making any more signings before the transfer window closes at 11pm tonight.

Chelsea will reportedly not bring in a replacement for the departed Cesc Fabregas before the transfer window shuts at 11pm tonight.

The Blues allowed the midfielder to leave Stamford Bridge for Ligue 1 strugglers Monaco earlier this month, bringing to an end the former Arsenal man's four-and-a-half year association with the club.

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri said recently that he was expecting to be able to sign a replacement, with Zenit St Petersburg's Leandro Paredes his top target until the Argentine instead opted to sign for Paris Saint-Germain.

According to the Evening Standard, the Blues are now "highly unlikely" to bring in any more faces this month and are generally satisfied with their January business, having brought in Sarri's top target in the form of Gonzalo Higuain.

Chelsea could still do some transfer business today in terms of outgoings, with potential exits for Michy Batshuayi, Danny Drinkwater and Gary Cahill all on the cards.
