Liverpool to sign Daniel Sturridge?

Liverpool are reportedly planning a swoop for Chelsea's Daniel Sturridge when the transfer window opens in January.

Chelsea forward Daniel Sturridge is reportedly a target for Liverpool.

The England international has found his chances limited at Stamford Bridge following the arrivals of Eden Hazard and Oscar in the summer, and now Reds' manager Brendan Rodgers is preparing to launch a bid for his services in January, according to The People.

Liverpool are desperately short of options up front after the Anfield side allowed record signing Andy Carroll to join West Ham United on a season-long loan and failed to sign a replacement in the summer transfer window.

Italian striker Fabio Borini is also ruled out until after Christmas after damaging his foot on international duty, leaving Rodgers with just Luis Suarez as his only recognised senior striker.

23-year-old Sturridge has featured in just three Premier League games this season.
