Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis tells Edinson Cavani that he must make a decision over his future by July 20.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has declared that he expects Edinson Cavani to make a final decision on his future by July 20 at the latest.

Cavani has been linked with a whole host of top European clubs in the past month, with Chelsea, Real Madrid and Manchester City repeatedly mentioned in the connection with Serie A's top scorer.

De Laurentiis is adamant that Cavani must make a quick decision after his participation in the Confederations Cup for Uruguay ends, joking that he will rip the forward's head off if there is any further delay.

Marca quotes him as saying: "Does anyone think that I'll let Cavani leave on August 10, with the league campaign about to kick off?

"I think that the Cavani soap opera will come to an end on July 20, which is when he returns from the Confederations Cup. If it doesn't, I'll rip his head off."

The 26-year-old will be on international duty in Brazil until at least the middle of this week, with Uruguay due to face the hosts in a semi-final clash on Wednesday.
