Premier League leaders Chelsea are lining up a £72.3m offer for Real Madrid's Gareth Bale, according to reports.
The 25-year-old has scored 12 goals in 24 La Liga appearances for Carlo Ancelotti's side this season, but has come in for criticism from some sections of the club's supporters and is rumoured to be considering his future in Spain.
That has alerted Chelsea, who are willing to make Bale their highest-paid player in bid to lure him back to the Premier League, according to The Metro.
Despite interest from Manchester United, the Welshman would be willing to accept an offer from Jose Mourinho's side, the newspaper reports.
Bale, who only joined Real Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013, is expected to be part of the Los Blancos side that takes on Barcelona in tonight's El Clasico.
