Guilherme Siqueira: 'I'm not Filipe Luis's replacement'

Guilherme Siqueira claims that he has not been signed by Atletico Madrid to replace current first-choice left-back Filipe Luis.

Brazilian defender Guilherme Siqueira has insisted that he has not been signed by Atletico Madrid to replace current first-choice left-back Filipe Luis.

Siqueira completed a medical with Atletico on Monday ahead of an £8m move from Granada.

Luis, meanwhile, has been strongly linked with a move to Chelsea, but Siqueira has claimed that his signing does not mean that Atletico have agreed to sell Luis.

"[Luis] hasn't left, he's still an Atletico Madrid player. I'm sure he'll look for the best solution for everyone. Where Filipe stays or goes, it won't be a problem for me, because I'm coming here to contribute and do the best I possible can for this shirt without looking at anything else," he told reporters.

"In all the shirts I've put on, I've always tried to be prepared and give the maximum."

Siqueira spent last season on loan at Benfica.
