West Ham United have reportedly started to give consideration to a January bid for Chelsea forward Olivier Giroud.
The Blues only signed Giroud from Arsenal at the start of 2018, and although the France international has only netted three times in 20 Premier League fixtures, the 32-year-old is regarded as a key player at Stamford Bridge.
However, Giroud has less than a year remaining on his contract, and according to The Mirror, that could result in the Hammers making a speculative offer in January.
West Ham have frequently been linked with the frontman in the past, and an opportunity to try to sign the player on the cheap may be too good to resist at a time when the club are looking to finish in the top half of the table.
Giroud is also settled in London, but Chelsea may look to offer a new contract with the ex-Gunners man currently acting as the perfect foil for Chelsea's creative midfielders having already provided four assists in the top flight since the start of August.
