Ruben Loftus-Cheek insists that England have a chance of winning the 2018 World Cup due to the talent in the squad.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek has insisted that England have a chance of winning the 2018 World Cup.

The Three Lions will open their tournament against Tunisia on June 18, before also facing Panama and Belgium in the group stages of the competition.

Gareth Southgate's side are seen as outsiders to challenge for the crown in Russia, but Chelsea midfielder Loftus-Cheek has said that his team have "frightening" talent.

"I think it would be stupid to rule us out. In training, you look about at the talent and it's frightening. I think we have a good chance," Loftus-Cheek told reporters.

"The squad is so young but so good at the same time. If we can deliver when it matters – and the boys can do that – we could have a really good tournament."

England will open their World Cup campaign against Tunisia on June 18.
