League One side Crewe Alexandra have activated the year's extension in striker Mathias Pogba's contract to keep the player until the summer of 2015.
Pogba is yet to make an appearance this season due to a knee injury, but manager Steve Davis said that Pogba will become a key player when he is back fit.
"We had an extra year option with Pogs and although he hasn't played for us this season, we made the decision to extend it," Davis told the club's official website.
"It is the right thing to do and it will be great to get him back with us and playing in the second half of the season.
"I know it is a bit of a footballing cliche but it really will be like having a new signing. I think it is great to have him here and then with the extra year as well, he will only get better and improve."
Pogba has made 34 league appearances for Crewe since joining in the summer of 2012.
