England and Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson has rejected suggestions that the Three Lions have a psychological problem with penalty shootouts.
Roy Hodgson's side were forced out of Euro 2012 last night courtesy of Italy following a 4-2 defeat on penalties.
"I don't think it's a psychological thing at all," Henderson told Goal.com. "It really is just one of these things that happens. None of us were aware or even really thinking about penalties.
"We certainly weren't worrying about the history of shootouts for England. As I say it was just one of those things that happens in football."
Meanwhile, former England boss Graham Taylor has revealed his doubts over Steven Gerrard's ability to prolong his international career.
