Harry Kane and Harry Winks withdraw from England's squad for their looming friendlies with Germany and Brazil, while Jake Livermore is added to Gareth Southgate's ranks.

Both Harry Kane and Harry Winks have pulled out of Gareth Southgate's England squad for the country's looming friendlies with Germany and Brazil.

Kane has recently been nursing a knee injury sustained against Crystal Palace, while Winks is thought to be unavailable following problems surrounding an ankle ligament issue.

Southgate will now add Jake Livermore to his squad in order to bolster his midfield numbers ahead of two testing prestige friendlies on the international stage.

Kane has bagged seven goals in his last six internationals for England, but it is thought that the 24-year-old does not want to risk perpetuating problems with his knee, as he aims to sustain a title challenge with Tottenham Hotspur, while also being one of a few guaranteed starters for Southgate at next year's World Cup in Russia.

England will face Germany on November 10 before taking on Brazil four days later at Wembley.
