FIFA president Sepp Blatter confirms that goal-line technology could be introduced next season.

FIFA president Sepp Blatter has confirmed that goal-line technology could be implemented for the 2012/13 season.

The governing body have announced that at least two of the nine systems being tested in the world of football have proved to be "fast and accurate".

"Brazil 2014 will have technology to avoid phantom goals," Sky Sports News quotes Blatter as saying.

The lack of technology in football has been an ongoing issue, which became more prominent in the 2010 World Cup when Frank Lampard's goal for England against Germany was disallowed despite video playback proving that the ball was over the line.

The Football Association recently claimed that technology could be introduced into the Premier League next season.
