England confirm three friendlies

England confirm friendlies against Peru, Ecuador and Honduras as their final three matches before the World Cup in Brazil.

The FA have confirmed that England will play three friendlies against Central and South American opposition in the build-up to the World Cup.

The Three Lions play Peru on May 30 at Wembley before taking on Ecuador on June 4 and Honduras on June 7, both at Miami's Sunlife Stadium.

England manager Roy Hodgson said that he was pleased with the games and believes that it is important that his side face teams from similar footballing backgrounds as host nation Brazil.

"I'm delighted with the games we have been able to secure and the programme running up to the World Cup in general," he told the FA's website.

"I was clear to those responsible at the FA that I was looking for Central and South American opposition ahead of the tournament and that is exactly what has been delivered.

"In our training camps here and abroad, I hope to foster the spirit and work ethic that we are going to need out in Brazil. It is a tournament I want us to enjoy, but to do that we must work hard and play well."

England are in Group D with Italy, Uruguay and Costa Rica for next summer's tournament.
