Unbeaten in eight matches, Go Ahead Eagles welcome Groningen to De Adelaarshorst in round 13 of the Eredivisie season on Sunday.
The away team also head into the game on their best run of the season so far having lost just one of their last six outings.
Match preview
Groningen were involved in a share of the spoils following a 1-1 draw versus RKC Waalwijk at the Euroborg on November 7.
Danny Buijs's men went into the interval behind courtesy of Michiel Kramer's opener before drawing level in the 85th minute through Jorgen Strand Larsen.
The Pride of the North are hovering just above the relegation zone by a point following a woeful start to the 2021-22 season.
Their next task comes against an opposing side who have not won any of the last eight meetings between the teams since the turn of the millennium.
Sunday's visitors, who have conceded the joint-most goals away from home this term, will need to tighten up at the back if they are to pick up a positive result.
Go Ahead Eagles upset the odds in their match against defending champions Ajax two Sundays ago when they played out a goalless draw.
Despite being on the back foot for the majority of the contest, Kees van Wonderen's men held firm to secure an impressive point in Amsterdam.
The pride of the IJssel Kowet have now amassed 11 of the last 15 points available and are currently 10th on the log, a point off the top half.
Only the current top four teams have picked up more points on home turf than Sunday's hosts, who will be confident of securing another feather in the cap this weekend.
