Everton reserve team coach Alan Stubbs believes that David Moyes is stalling on signing a new deal at the club because he needs "assurances" over his summer transfer budget.
The Scot, who is out of contract with the Blues in the summer, has consistently had to work with tighter financial constraints compared to his Premier League rivals, and Stubbs thinks that Moyes is delaying extending the contract because of that issue.
"He'll want assurances about what players get sold and the amount of money that he'll get to spend from those transfers," Stubbs told Sports Bar.
"He wants to see the direction that the club is taking before he commits his future to it. It's a crossroads for the board as well, not just the manager.
"The decision is more off the pitch rather than on the pitch. It will be about his budget."
Moyes has been at Goodison Park since 2002.
