Half-Time Report: Spain holding France in Paris

Spain hold France to a 0-0 half-time draw in a quiet opening 45 minutes in Paris.

Spain have held France to a goalless half-time draw in tonight's friendly in Paris.

Both managers Didier Deschamps and Vicente del Bosque named strong first XIs in what is their country's final warm-up encounter before Euro 2016 qualifying begins.

Spain, still reeling from a dismal World Cup campaign which saw them suffer a group-stage exit, faced more questions in the early stages as France went close on nine minutes.

Karim Benzema latched on to Mathieu Valbuena's through-ball, but the Real Madrid marksman could not beat David de Gea.

De Gea found himself the busier of the goalkeepers and was called into action again six minutes before the break.

Antoine Griezmann's clever knock-down flick fell to Benzema, who struck from outside the area but the Manchester United stopper was equal to it.
