FC Twente's slim chances of progressing in the Europa League have ended following a goalless draw at Hannover.

Levante's 3-1 win against Helsingborg means that Steve McClaren's side will not be in the last 32 of the competition.

Twente enjoyed the better openings in the first half, but Willem Janssen and Felipe Gutierrez were both off target.

Hannover came out stronger after the break and could have gone ahead through Artur Sobiech.

Twente's night was made worse in the final five minutes as Rasmus Bengtsson was shown a straight red card for his foul on Sobiech.
