Alan Stubbs: 'Hibernian still in title race after victory over Rangers'

Alan Stubbs says that Hibernian can still win the Scottish Championship after beating Rangers 2-1.

Alan Stubbs has said that Hibernian can still win the Scottish Championship title.

The Edinburgh club closed the gap on the league leaders to five points after their 2-1 win.

"To be only five points ahead of your closest rivals after having such an unbelievable start, I think that tells you how well we've done," Stubbs told reporters.

"And the lads deserve all the credit that they should get tonight. The title race is certainly on. I think it was on already. We've certainly given ourselves a foothold now to keep chasing them.

"We're not going to get carried away. This club should be winning big games and we've done that now, and are starting to do it consistently. The improvement is there for everybody to see."

Hibs have now won eight of their last nine league matches.
