Mark Robins: 'James Vaughan injury tests positive'

James Vaughan may be fit enough to play a part for Huddersfield Town this weekend, after tests revealed that the striker's thigh injury is not as bad as initially feared.

Huddersfield Town manager Mark Robins has revealed that James Vaughan's injury is not as bad as initially feared.

The striker suffered a problem with his thigh in the first half of the Terriers' 3-0 home defeat at the hands of Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night.

Despite limping off, Robins says that the tests were positive and the former Norwich City man may even be fit enough to face Birmingham City this weekend.

"The outcome of tests on the injury was more positive than we thought it might have been," the 44-year-old is quoted as saying in the Huddersfield Daily Examiner. "He'll be given every chance to show his fitness."

Huddersfield are currently in 14th position in the Championship table.
