New Inverness Caledonian Thistle manager John Hughes has revealed that he is excited by the challenge facing him at the club.
The 49-year-old was appointed by the Scottish Premiership side on Wednesday following Terry Butcher's departure to Hibernian last month.
Despite taking charge of a team that is flying high in second place in the table, Hughes insists that he is looking forward to keeping their strong run of form going.
"The position Inverness are in might have scared one or two people but it excites me," he told Sky Sports News.
"I feel I've got the experience and the personality to bring success to the club.
"I met the players yesterday and the spirit that's in that dressing room that Terry has built up is fantastic."
Hughes manages Inverness for the first time on Saturday when they travel to St Mirren in the league.
