Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy has revealed that he is "confident" of doing more business before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.
The Championship side have brought in four new faces so far this summer, including centre-back Paul Digby and midfielders Grant Ward and Adam Webster, as well as the loan signing of Conor Grant from Everton.
Earlier today Town reneged on the decision to let Luke Varney go following injuries to Brett Pitman and David McGoldrick, and McCarthy now expects more additions to his squad in the coming weeks.
"We are still looking to add to the squad further before the window closes," McCarthy told the club's website. "I've had discussions with some Premier League clubs and they are saying 'We are trying to get someone in. This might happen, that might happen - if it does, we might be able to do something.'
"So it's a case of being patient at the moment but I'm confident that we will add to the squad before the end of August."
Ipswich are currently third in the primitive Championship table following their 4-2 opening-day win over Barnsley last weekend.
