Sheffield Wednesday manager Stuart Gray has revealed that he is eager to work with Connor Wickham again in the future.
Wickham enjoyed a successful loan spell at Hillsborough earlier this season, before joining Leeds United for a short period and eventually returning to parent club Sunderland.
"He did an excellent job for us," Gray revealed to reporters. "I was gutted and disappointed, and so was he, that we couldn't get him back here.
"Sometimes players just fit into the right system and the right club. He got eight goals in 11 games for us, which was a fantastic return.
"You never know, hopefully we can work together again."
Wickham started for Sunderland in the 2-1 defeat to Liverpool on Wednesday night.
