Sunderland have reportedly joined the race to sign Leeds United youngster Sam Byram.
The 21-year-old has been a regular for the Whites in the last three seasons since breaking into the team as an 18-year-old.
According to the Daily Mail, Sunderland are preparing a £5m move, but face competition from Liverpool and rivals Newcastle United for his signature.
Leeds are said to want £8m if they are to part with their right-back, who scored three Championship goals in 39 appearances last season.
