Connor Wickham strike seals Sheffield Wednesday victory

Sheffield Wednesay record a 1-0 win over Leicester City thanks to Connor Wickham's second-half goal at the King Power Stadium.

Leicester City have fallen to a 1-0 defeat at home to Sheffield Wednesday at the King Power Stadium this afternoon.

Chris Kirkland was called into action in the first half to keep his side level, before Leroy Lita and Reda Johnson wasted chances to put the Owls in front.

The score remained goalless at half time, but the visitors should have taken the lead shortly after the break.

It was Lita who turned provider for Michail Antonio, but he was denied by a good save from Kasper Schmeichel.

However, it was not long before Dave Jones's men took the lead, as second-half substitute Connor Wickham smashed into the roof of the net.

The Foxes pushed forward desperately in search of an equaliser, but Paul Gallagher found Kirkland in fine form.
