Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp makes three changes for the first leg of his side's Champions League semi-final with Villarreal at Anfield.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has made three changes for the first leg of his side's Champions League semi-final with Villarreal at Anfield.

Luis Diaz, Jordan Henderson and Ibrahima Konate have all earned recalls to the first XI for the visit of Unai Emery's side, with Diogo Jota, Joel Matip and Naby Keita dropping to the bench.

Konate scored in both legs of the quarter-final triumph over Benfica and will aim to repeat the trick alongside Virgil van Dijk here, as Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson continue out wide.

Fabinho and Thiago Alcantara unsurprisingly join the returning Henderson in the middle of the park, and Diaz will seemingly play on the left of the front three for the Reds yet again.

Sadio Mane acts as the focal point of the attack alongside Diaz and Mohamed Salah, who needs just four more goals to break the record for the most Champions League goals scored for an English club.

Roberto Firmino, as expected, misses out due to a foot injury, while Kostas Tsimikas and Curtis Jones are not available due to illness.

Liverpool starting lineup: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Fabinho, Henderson, Thiago; Salah, Mane, Diaz

Subs: Adrian, Kelleher, Milner, Keita, Gomez, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Minamino, Jota, Origi, Matip, Williams, Elliott
