Half-Time Report: Craig Dawson cancels out Jordan Henderson opener

Craig Dawson cancels out a Jordan Henderson goal to leave West Bromwich Albion level at half time with Liverpool at Anfield.

A Craig Dawson equaliser has left West Bromwich Albion level at 1-1 with Liverpool at half time in their Premier League clash at Anfield.

Both sides struggled to create chances in the opening 10 minutes, with a long ball into the box from Jordan Henderson cleared before Christian Benteke could get a shot away the closest either team got early on.

The Belgian striker was involved again a couple of minutes later though, as Nathaniel Clyne tried his luck from the edge of the box, only for the miscued shot to land at Benteke's feet, but Gareth McAuley was able to turn it behind.

As the home side started to dominate possession, Adam Lallana chipped the ball into the box for Philippe Coutinho, who has missed Liverpool's last two league outings, but the Brazilian's half-volley was too high.

Jurgen Klopp's side broke the deadlock midway through the half when Coutinho fired a diagonal ball into the box for Lallana to nod down into the path of Henderson, who rifled the ball past Boaz Myhill.

The lead was short-lived though as the Baggies were back on level terms on the half-hour mark, with Chris Brunt delivering the ball from a corner, which Simon Mignolet failed to clear, leaving Dawson to blast it home.

The Baggies had the ball in the back of the net again in stoppage time, but Jonas Olsson's finish was ruled out for offside.
