Steven Gerrard: 'We all have confidence in Brendan Rodgers'

Steven Gerrard insists that the entire Liverpool squad retains faith in manager Brendan Rodgers and feels that they have the ability to turn their season around.

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is adamant that he and his teammates have the utmost confidence in manager Brendan Rodgers.

The Reds have struggled to match their form of last season and currently sit in thebottom half of the Premier League, while they also failed to progress to the knockout stage of the Champions League.

However, Gerrard has insisted that there is more than enough quality within the squad to turn their season around in the second half of the campaign.

He told reporters: "Look, we're still moving forward, I really believe that. I'm the first to admit it's been tough this season, it's been a bit of a roller-coaster. But no-one in the dressing room has lost confidence in the manager. We are all behind him, we all believe in him.

"We aren't where we want to be in the table and nobody is happy about that, but we're determined to put it right. It will take time. But I have that belief that we'll get it right and we will get there.

"We are a strong dressing room with a good manager - it will only be a matter of time before we turn it around. I've got confidence it will happen – and hopefully it will start with a victory over Arsenal because that could really kickstart things for us."

Liverpool meet Arsenal in their top-flight match at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
