Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish says midfielder Raul Meireles will be out for "a few weeks" after injuring his collarbone.

The 28-year-old fell awkwardly as he challenged for the ball during the Reds' 3-1 win against Exeter in the Carling Cup second round and was taken off.

"Raul has hurt his collarbone. I don't know the technical term but he fell heavily," said Dalglish.

"We don't know how serious it is but it'll be a few weeks."

Liverpool host Bolton Wanderers in the Premier League on Saturday.
