The proposed transfer of Andy Carroll to Newcastle United could depend on whether Demba Ba leaves the Magpies this week.
Ba is believed to have a £7m exit clause in his contract at Newcastle, with Galatasaray and Rubin Kazan both believed to be preparing bids for the Senegalese striker.
Any fresh move for Liverpool striker Carroll from Alan Pardew may be delayed until the club know the future of Ba.
A club source told The People: "All our plans are up in the air until we find out on Tuesday what Ba is doing. We understand his people have talked to Rubin Kazan and Galatasaray, but we have not received any offers from any of the top clubs in Europe."
Despite Newcastle's reported interest in Carroll, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has suggested that the strike could stay at Anfield.
