Georginio Wijnaldum has reportedly agreed to join Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain after his contract with Liverpool expires this month.

The Dutchman was seemingly set to join compatriot Ronald Koeman at Spanish giants Barcelona, who had agreed personal terms for the midfielder to move to Camp Nou.

However, The Guardian reports that Wijnaldum has now signed a three-year contract with PSG and the deal will be finalised once he completes his medical.

PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino is believed to have urged the club to swoop for the midfielder, as he felt that the opportunity to sign such a talented and experienced player was too good to turn down.

Barcelona are now set to turn their attention back to Wijnaldum's international teammate Memphis Depay, who will also see his contract expire at the end of this month, with the forward set to leave Lyon this summer.

Wijnaldum made 237 appearances for Liverpool and is leaving the club having won the Premier League, Champions League and FIFA Club World Cup.
