Barcelona have 'no intention' of raising their contract offer for Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Barcelona reportedly have 'no intention' of raising their contract offer for Georginio Wijnaldum, with the Liverpool midfielder seemingly set to join Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer.

The Catalan giants have long been considered as the favourites for the Netherlands international, with various reports claiming that the 30-year-old was on the verge of moving to Camp Nou.

However, PSG have emerged as the favourites over the last 24 hours or so, with the French outfit believed to have placed a more lucrative deal on the table.

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Barca have 'no intention' of raising their offer for the midfielder, who has already accepted a deal from Mauricio Pochettino's side.

The report claims that PSG are now working on a medical for Wijnaldum, with the deal potentially going through before this summer's European Championships start.

The Dutchman scored three times in 51 appearances for Liverpool last term.
