Inter Milan are reportedly readying a £7m bid to lure midfielder Lucas Leiva away from Liverpool during January.
The Nerazzurri have been heavily linked with a move for the Brazilian international in recent months, including a rumoured part-exchange for Nemanja Vidic.
According to The Mirror, Inter see Lucas as the perfect fit to play in a defensive midfield role.
Lucas had struggled to earn regular first-team opportunities under Reds boss Brendan Rodgers, but has seen more action of late with teammate Joe Allen sidelined through injury.
However, it is claimed that the Merseyside giants would still consider a sale for the right price and pursue possible replacements during the mid-season window.
