Fiorentina director Joe Barone has revealed that the Italian club are working on a contract extension for Dusan Vlahovic amid the speculation surrounding the striker's future.
The 21-year-old enjoyed an impressive 2020-21 campaign for La Viola, scoring 21 times in 37 Serie A appearances, and a number of clubs have been credited with an interest in his services.
Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are both said to be keen on the Serbia international, but Barone has revealed that Fiorentina are working to extend the forward's deal, which is due to expire in June 2023.
"We're monitoring the team as it is and after the pre-season training we'll see what we need to bring in. Vlahovic is a Fiorentina player, he has two years on his contract and we are working constantly with his agent over an extension," Barone told reporters.
Vlahovic, who has also been linked with Juventus, has netted 29 times in 84 appearances for his Italian club since making the move from Partizan in 2018.
Tottenham could be in the market for a Harry Kane replacement this summer, while Liverpool are believed to be keen to boost their attacking options ahead of the 2021-22 campaign.
