AC Milan have begun negotiations with Liverpool over a possible loan deal for striker Andy Carroll.
According to Sport Mediaset, the England international will join the Italian club on loan for the 2012-13 season before the Rossoneri will make the deal permanent for around £13.5m (€17m].
However, Liverpool reportedly want around £2.4m [€3m] as initial payment while Milan are willing to pay around £1.2m [€1.5m].
Carroll's future at Anfield under new manager Brendan Rodgers is in doubt, while Milan are seeking a striker following the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Paris Saint-Germain earlier this summer.
Sport Mediaset is owned by former Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi, who also owns Milan.
