Liverpool are reportedly on the verge of completing a deal for Manchester City midfielder James Milner.
The 29-year-old is out of contract with the Citizens and he is widely expected to leave the club in order to secure regular first-team football.
He has been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal and Liverpool, but according to The Telegraph, the Merseysiders have reached a verbal agreement with Milner's representatives.
It is understood that the Reds hope to complete a deal for the England international by the end of the week, although he will be expected to take a pay cut from the £165,000 a week that he currently receives at City.
Milner has spent the past five seasons at City, having joined the club from Aston Villa in August 2010.
