Gary Holt looking to bring hungry players to Livingston in January

Livi are sixth in the table.

Livingston boss Gary Holt has put hunger at the top of his criteria as he considers bringing in new faces in January.

The West Lothian club have been the surprise package of the season after being promoted to the Ladbrokes Premiership.

Saturday's 1-1 draw with Hibernian at Easter Road kept Livi in sixth place in the table and they finish off the year with a trip to bottom side Dundee on Boxing Day before a home game against Aberdeen on December 29.

If there are to be new faces added to his group after hosting the Dons, Holt will be ensuring desire is paramount.

Ahead of the Dens Park match, he said: "We are always looking, searching far and wide to see who fits the criteria we are looking for.

"We are not stockpiling players for the sake of it. We want players who are hungry, and energetic to work.

"Technical and tactical helps but if they have not got the hunger and desire to push someone aside who is in the squad, they are not going to do here, simple as that because we have a good hungry group who want to achieve and want to try different things and want to learn.

"You need people who fits into that mould."

Holt revealed Livingston will spend part of the winter break in Portugal.

He said: "We will give the boys some time off after the 29th and then we are going to Portugal for five/six days in the lead-up to the Scottish Cup game (against Hearts).

"The players have earned the right, the club have backed us with it which is brilliant and we can go there and get some really good training in."
