Sergio Aguero: 'Manchester City can win Champions League'

Sergio Aguero feels that Manchester City have enough quality to win the Champions League.

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has claimed that the Citizens can go all the way in the Champions League this season.

Manuel Pellegrini's side have already booked their spot in the last 16 of the competition for a third successive year, despite their 1-0 defeat to Group D leaders Juventus on matchday five.

The Sky Blues have never progressed beyond the second round, with Barcelona eliminating them in each of the previous two years, but Aguero feels that could change this season.

"In recent years it went wrong for us but this season I think we can go far," the Argentine, 27, told So Foot.

"Even though we started badly, our place in the knockout stages is assured. There are very big teams in the competition and it is inevitably difficult to go forward.

"But if you look at past editions, we were eliminated by Barcelona. It all depends on us this year."

City, who sit two points behind Juve, conclude their group-stage campaign on December 8 by hosting Borussia Monchengladbach.
