Jose Mourinho aims insult at Manchester City ahead of Champions League clash

Jose Mourinho insists that Real Madrid cannot be compared to Manchester City as the two sides prepare to meet in this season's Champions League.

Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has claimed that Manchester City will never be able to match the Spanish club for history and tradition.

Mourinho insisted that he is taking the threat posed by City in their Champions League group seriously but does not think the clubs are comparable off the pitch.

He said: "Quite simply Real Madrid is a club like no other. It's incomparable with any other club in the world.

"There are some things that money can't buy — trophies and history.

"What I do know about City is they have very good players and they are a powerful side."

Madrid entertain City on Tuesday in the pick of the opening round of fixtures in this season's Champions League group stages.
