Cristiano Ronaldo praises Real Madrid belief

Cristiano Ronaldo admits that he had to celebrate his match winning goal against Manchester City in the Champions League.

Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed that he had to celebrate scoring the winning goal for Real Madrid against Manchester City in the Champions League.

The Portuguese forward's strike ensured that Jose Mourinho's side started the competition with a win and he praised the team's belief.

Ronaldo told TVE1: "We believed we could win and we did. The team has done very well, we knew we could do this and we did so on merit."

Despite choosing not to celebrate goals recently, Ronaldo admitted that he celebrated his goal because of the importance of the match.

"I celebrate when I have to celebrate. The match was very important and we are in the fight," he added.

Mourinho was left delighted with the fight his team showed by coming from behind to secure the victory.
