Martin Demichelis: 'Man City are title favourites'

Martin Demichelis suggests that Manchester City are favourites to lift the Premier League title this season.

Manchester City defender Martin Demichelis has suggested that his side are favourites to claim the Premier League title this season.

The Sky Blues, who lifted the trophy in 2012 and 2014, finished eight points behind champions Chelsea last term.

However, Demichelis is confident that Manuel Pellegrini's side will return to the top of the standings this time around.

"There are tough teams every year involved in the fight and what we want to do is beat them so we know that teams such as Chelsea, United and Arsenal are going to be there," the Argentine told Sky Sports News.

"We will fight against them and our intention is to win, yes, we are favourites."

City open up their Premier League campaign at West Bromwich Albion this evening.
