Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola addresses his future ahead of the final day of the 2023-24 Premier League season.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has insisted that he will remain in his position for the 2024-25 season.

Guardiola has experienced significant success during his time as Man City boss, winning five Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four EFL Cups, a Champions League, a UEFA Super Cup, a FIFA Club World Cup and two Community Shields.

The 53-year-old will enter the final day of the Premier League season with the chance to create a piece of English football history.

Having won the last three Premier League titles, Man City have the opportunity to become the first team to win the English top flight in four consecutive seasons.

Guardiola to stay for 2024-25 sseason

With Guardiola on the verge of another historic achievement, there has been a suggestion that he could leave his role ahead of the final 12 months of his contract.

However, Guardiola gave a conclusive response when he was asked about his future in his pre-match press conference.

"I have a contract, I want to be here next season, yes," Guardiola said ahead of Sunday's final-day clash with West Ham United.

The Man City manager has also dismissed the notion that no other team can win the Premier League while he is in charge of the Citizens.

Guardiola added: "If the narrative was that I was winning by 20 points I would say 'yes, I'm a genius, I'm so good'. But it's not. The Premier Leagues we have won the others could have won - and Arsenal can win this one."

Guardiola targeting more silverware

Having collected 88 points from 37 matches, the Citizens will enter the final day with a two-point lead over second-placed Arsenal.

As a result, Guardiola is just one win away from winning Man City's seventh Premier League trophy and the 12th top-flight title of his managerial career.

If the Citizens fail to beat West Ham at the Etihad Stadium, they will still be crowned champions as long as they match the result of Arsenal's game against Everton.

Guardiola is looking to complete a league and cup double, with Man City set to face rivals Manchester United in the FA Cup final next weekend.
