Cheikhou Kouyate: Manchester City like a "wounded animal"

West Ham United midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate believes that Manchester City will be like a "wounded animal" when they play the Hammers in the Premier League this weekend.

Cheikhou Kouyate has said that Manchester City will be like a "wounded animal" when they face West Ham United in the Premier League this weekend.

The current Premier League champions have suffered back-to-back defeats in the league, including a 4-2 loss to Manchester United last weekend.

The Hammers midfielder told the club's website: "Anything is possible in football, but we mustn't forget who we are up against. They are a wounded animal because they need points so they have to wake themselves up to win.

"A team like Manchester City can't afford to make mistakes, so for us it's a good time to face them, but we mustn't underestimate them, there's life in them yet.

"We need the points as well, because we want to remain in the top 10. It is not going to be easy because we will be up against one of the best teams in the country and last year's champions of England."

West Ham currently sit ninth in the table, while Man City are fourth.
