Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte is allegedly considering switching his international allegiance to Spain after failing to secure a spot in France's World Cup squad.
The centre-back, who is eligible to play for both countries, is yet to earn a senior cap for Les Bleus despite making their squad for World Cup qualifiers.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Spain are seeking fresh blood at centre-back following their exit from the World Cup and are ready to make another attempt to convince Laporte to change his allegiance.
The 24-year-old is said to be open to the possibility as a means of playing regularly at international level.
Laporte is City's record defensive signing, having joined the club from Athletic Bilbao in a £57m deal.
