Robbie Savage: 'Manuel Pellegrini will be sacked at the end of the season'

Robbie Savage believes that Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini will be sacked at the end of the season, as the club has gone backwards under him.

Robbie Savage has claimed that Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini will be sacked at the end of the season.

The Chilean led the Etihad outfit to the Premier League title last season, but they have slipped to 10 points behind leaders Chelsea this time round.

Savage told BBC Sport: "I think there has been complacency, it is an ageing squad and the recruitment after winning the league under both Roberto Mancini and Manuel Pellegrini has been very poor.

"Man City is about the here and now - and that is why I can see the manager losing his job at the end of the season. City have gone backwards. No question."

Up next for City is the Manchester derby on Sunday afternoon.
