Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert is reportedly interested in signing Manchester City outcast Joleon Lescott.
The North-West outfit confirmed last week that the 31-year-old will leave the Etihad Stadium when his contract expires this summer.
According to The Express, Lambert wants to sign Lescott, who is a Villa supporter, but the defender's £50,000-a-week wages could prove to be a stumbling block for owner Randy Lerner, who is looking to sell the club.
American businessman Lerner put Villa up for sale on May 12, the day after the Premier League season concluded.
