Manchester City are set to offer Patrick Vieira a new coaching contract to fend off interest from Marseille, according to reports.
The former Arsenal midfielder is in charge of bringing through young players at the Etihad in his role as elite development squad manager.
Marseille are understood to be interested in appointing Vieira as their new manager if Marcelo Bielsa is dismissed, but the Daily Star claims that City are preparing a new deal for the 38-year-old.
Vieira, who is currently on a rolling contract at City, won 107 caps for France en route to the 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000.
