Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini plays down speculation that he is keen to sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic from AC Milan.

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has played down rumours that he is hoping to sign AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic this summer.

Recent reports had claimed that Mancini had made the Swedish international his number one transfer target during pre-season.

However, following a courtesy meeting with Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani, Mancini told reporters who had asked about Ibrahimovic: "Milan fans can stay calm."

Mancini signed the 30-year-old during his managerial stint with Inter Milan back in 2006.
