Mark Hughes: 'Manchester United can beat Bayern Munich in Europe'

Stoke City boss Mark Hughes believes that Manchester United can "absolutely" beat Bayern Munich in their Champions League quarter-final.

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes believes that Manchester United are capable of causing an upset by beating Bayern Munich in their Champions League quarter-final.

The Red Devils have drawn the holders in the final eight of the tournament following their 3-2 aggregate win over Olympiacos.

"They can beat Bayern - absolutely," the Daily Star quotes Hughes as saying. "It will be difficult because they are an outstanding team. There was never going to be an easy draw whoever United might have got and they are not having one of their better seasons.

"But the Olympiacos result was the right reaction and I think David Moyes will turn things around there. It's early days and I'm surprised to see so much speculation about his future."

In the Premier League, United currently sit seventh.
